African American women are hugely underrepresented in architecture--just 0.4 percent, 502 black women, are licensed architects in the U.S.
We are a group of women graduates from the University of Michigan Taubman College of Architecture and Urban Planning who recognize that not everyone with the dream of becoming an architect has the opportunity to pursue it. We're fundraising to create a scholarship specifically for black women architecture students through the Architects Foundation Diversity Advancement Scholarship Fund.
