HBCU + URM Diversity Advancement Scholarship Fundraising
Support underrepresented minority architecture students today!
We've set an audacious goal of $1 million toward a better future.
Want to create a more diverse and equitable architecture profession?
The Diversity Advancement Scholarship was launched in 1970 with an initial grant from the Ford Foundation and AIA, after civil rights leader Whitney Young Jr. challenged architects in 1968 to create a more responsible and equitable field.
The Architects Foundation is working to grow this program and award more scholarships for Under-Represented Minority (URM) students studying architecture, especially at the seven NAAB-accredited architecture programs at Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs). URM students from any institution may apply.
Donate today to support a diverse next generation of architects!
Description of scholarship
This multiyear scholarship supports high school and undergraduate URM students who are entering, enrolled in, or transferring into a NAAB-accredited undergraduate architecture program. The majority of funds raised will be slated for HBCU students with a select number of scholarships reserved for URM students from other NAAB-accredited programs. Scholarships may be renewed every year until the degree is completed, for up to 5 years.
